Description
The Human Rights Council is an intergovernmental body within the United Nations system responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe and for addressing situations of human rights violations and making recommendations on them. It has the ability to discuss all thematic human rights issues and situations that require its attention throughout the year.

I’m Aarna and I’m the vice chair of UNHRC. I’ve been doing MUN’s for 2 years due to my passion for public speaking. UNHRC has always stood out to me for its competitive nature. I’d describe myself as an extroverted nerd which so MUN seemed like the perfect fit. I really want to make an impact on the committee by giving delegates the feedback they need and I hope I can keep the committee interesting.
